English Language Arts 

Outcome: Ensure students are making sufficient progress to be on grade level in English Language Arts.

Goal: 82% of students will meet grade level expectations on iReady/PALs.

Strategy 1  Students will receive differentiated skills based small group instruction.

Strategy 2  Students will receive daily, systematic, explicit instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, and morphology in the core language arts block.

Strategy 3  Students will engage in high level language skills (inferencing, comprehension monitoring, text structure, vocabulary) via interactive read alouds of complex texts.

 

Mathematics 

Outcome: Ensure students are making sufficient progress to be on grade level in Mathematics.

Goal: 89% of students will meet grade level expectations on iReady/EMAS.

Strategy 1  Increase student and teacher use of mathematical language.

Strategy 2  Students will engage in daily sensemaking routines/mathematics community builder at the start of every math block. 

Strategy 3  Students and teachers will engage in daily lesson reflections and closures as an opportunity to reflect on their learning.

 

Wellness 

Outcome: Strengthen adult wellness and promote student wellness by using Morning Meeting & Closing Circles and CASEL’s 3 Signature practices.

Goal:  By May 2023, 100% of all students in grades K-6 will show an increase in their feelings of personal happiness and belonging and be able to identify 2 strategies to use for self regulation by participating in daily teacher led Morning Meeting activities using The Positivity Project curriculum, and daily teacher led Closing Circle reflections.

Strategy 1  Refine and Strengthen Tier 1 SEL Curriculum Implementation at all grade levels K-6 with Morning Meeting

Strategy 2  Schoolwide Implementation of Closing Circle in every classroom K-6 3:50-4:05

Strategy 3  Targeted Tier 2 Student Support Groups and Wellness Groups

 

Portrait of a Graduate (POG)

Outcome: All students will complete a POG Presentation of Learning (POL) by 2025-26. 

Goal:  By the end of the 2022-2023 school year, Laurel Hill will score a 77% pass rate or higher on the Science SOL for 5th grade and all students K-6 will score an average of 3 or 4 on the cumulative end-of-year PBA Science rubric.

Strategy 1  Students K-6 will complete a quarterly PBA assessment in science.

Strategy 2  Teachers and students will become versed in the POG attribute Critical and Creative Thinker
